#041 Story Of Abunawas - Fair Share

The old judge had been sick for three months. Many doctors tried to cure him, but he did not get better. One day he called his son, Abunawas.

“Abunawas, my time will come soon,” he said to his son. “King Aaron El Rosyid will appoint you to be my successor. Take it, if you think you can be a good judge. If think you can’t, leave it.”

Not long after that, Abunawas’ father passed away. Abunawas was so sad and confused. He was sad because he lost his father. He was confused because he did not want to replace his father’s position, but he had not had any good reason to refuse it yet.

One day he saw children playing with hobby-horses made of the midrib of banana leaf. He made one and joined them. They ran around happily. Finally, they went to the palace with their hobby-horses. Some ministers saw Abunawas among the children. They thought that Abu was mad for his father had just died. They reported this to the king.

The king did not believe them, so he called Abunawas to come to the palace. When Abunawas came at the gate of the palace, a guard stopped him.

“Hey, listen,” said the guard. “I’ll let you in if you promise me something.”

“Promise you what?” Abunawas asked.

“Promise to give me half of anything that the king will give you.”

“Ok, no problem,” said Abunawas.

The guard let him pass the gate into the palace. When Abunawas was in front of the king, he bowed but did not say anything. The king asked him.

“Abunawas, will you be a judge like your father?”

Funny story

Abunawas did not answer. The king became impatient and said loudly.

“Hey, Abunawas! Do you hear me?”

Abunawas did not say a word but began dancing. The king was then very angry and thought that Abunawas was crazy. He asked one of his guards to beat Abunawas with a rattan stick twenty times. Abunawas was in pain but he tried not to cry or say a word.

“Now, go away,” said the king. Abunawas left the palace and began to beat the guard at the gate ten times. He then left him for home.

The guard reported this to the king. The king was angry and ordered Abunawas to come to the palace again.

“Why did you beat this guard?” asked the king.

Funny story

Calmly Abunawas answered, “Yesterday, before I passed the gate he stopped me and made me to promise something.”

“What did he want you to promise?”

“He wanted me to give him half of anything that Your Majesty would give me. And yesterday you gave me twenty beats on my back. So I gave him share, ten beats on his back. It’s fair, isn’t it?”

The king soon realised that Abunawas was as ready to replace his dad.

#040 The Tranquilizer : Blood Sick (Part 4)

Sean became the leader of the mission to capture Murdoc Junior. He requested Brook to find three groups which consisted of six soldiers per group. It has to be in smaller number to avoid getting noticed and the enemy could request back up which could make the mission a failure. These three groups had responsibilities to create chaos outside the enemy’s camp. From the front, left, and right side of the camp while Sean will infiltrate into the enemy’s base to capture Murdoc Junior.

Sean went into the enemy’s base stealthily. The enemy’s base was surrounded with iron wire with a building inside and a few soldiers’ camps. Therefore, Sean had to cut a hole so that he could go in. He waited for a chance to knock down a soldier and took the uniform to disguise as the enemy’s soldier. He hid behind a tree and threw a watch on the ground. A soldier passed by and noticed the watch. When the soldier was going to take the watch, quickly Sean hit him with tranquilizing needle. Sean then changed clothes into enemy’s uniform.

After Sean had finished with his disguise, he informed the three groups to start creating chaos.

*Loud noise of bombs surrounding the enemy’s base*

The alarm rang immediately and the enemies gathered around. The leader then split his army into three to deal with the US army respectively and some stayed to protect Murdoc Junior. Once the enemies were out Sean started to move. He took down some soldiers near the building with his tranquilizing gun. He then moved around to find out where Murdoc Junior was at. He peeked at every corner and found a door that was guarded by two guards that made Sean to think that it was the room he was looking for. As he was in enemy’s uniform, he walked straight to the two guards and shout at them that there was someone who infiltrated the building. When Sean was close enough he then hit the two guards with tranquilizing needles and the two guards were down.

Sean opened the door slowly, it was dark. Suddenly he heard someone talking.

“I know that someone is looking for me,” said Murdoc Junior.

#039 A Mousedeer Who Defeated A Tiger

Long ago a mousedeer and a tiger were neighbours. The tiger was very fierce. He liked to boast how strong he was. All the animals in the forest were afraid of him. He ate at least one of them for dinner every day.

The mousedeer decided to teach him a good lesson.

“Would you allow me to bring you your dinner every day? You will then not have to hunt to food,” he asked the tiger.

The tiger agreed. The next day the mousedeer took a rat with him to see the tiger.

“I’m afraid I could not bring you a bigger animal,” the mousedeer explained. “There’s an animal that looks exactly like you blocking the road. He has a rat sitting on his head.”

He said to all animals, “Is there anyone in the world who can fight with me? If so, let him come and try. If there’s no one, then I’m the king of the forest.”

“Ho!” said the tiger. “Didn’t you tell him about me?”

“Yes I did,” replied the mousedeer.

“When I told him how strong you were, he laughed and said rude things. He even said he would not accept you as his servant,” the mousedeer added.

The tiger became very angry. “Where is he? Where is he?” He shouted.

So the mousedeer asked the rat to sit on the tiger’s head while he sat on the tiger’s back. He pointed to a river not far away.

“He’s there,” He said.

The tiger ran to the river. He looked down at the water. Yes, there was another tiger. As the mousedeer said, he was just like himself. There was also a rat sitting on his head. The enemy looked exactly like what the mousedeer explained.

He roared loudly and his enemy shouted loudly too. The tiger became even angrier. He showed his teeth, the other tiger did the same. In the end the tiger attacked his enemy. The tiger jumped into the river to fight with his enemy. The river was deep and filled with crocodiles. 

 The mousedeer and the mouse ran immediately.

#038 Mekla And Ramasura

In Thailand, there was once a beautiful goddess called Mekla. She was the wife of a god named Siva, who lived in a palace in the clouds. She had a glass ball, which was her wedding present from her father.

As Siva had many servants, Mekla had nothing to do and she passed her time playing with the glass ball.

One day, she decided to go out and play. She flew through the sky straight towards a dark cloud in which a giant named Ramasura was hiding. When she came close, Ramasura tried to catch her but she flashed the glass ball in his eyes so that he could not see. Ramasura threw an axe at her. Because he was blinded by the light, it missed her and fell down through the clouds to the earth below and made a very loud noise. Every time Ramasura had prepared an axe, Mekla would flash his glass ball to his eyes.

Then it began to rain heavily.  Ramasura was no longer able to follow her. She flew back to the palace as fast as she could and dried her wet clothes and hair. Her husband did not know where she had been.

Whenever Mekla became tired of doing nothing, she used to go out and play with her glass ball with Ramasura. Ramasura tried many times to catch her but he never succeeded.

It is believed that thunder is caused by Ramasura throwing his axe at Mekla and lightning by Mekla flashing her glass ball in the eyes of Ramasura. That is why lightning happens before thunder. Nowadays, Mekla is also known as the goddess of lightening and Ramasura is also known as the god of thunder.

#037 The Tranquilizer : Blood Sick (Part 3)

*The sound of a door opened*

“Sean Frank, from the US Army, dead in a war in middle east and came back to life,” said Brook, an FBI agent.

“You are a unique killer, no blood at all, is it a grudge against your war mate, Boris Burk?” he added.

“He tried to kill me because of the gold we found in the war site,” Sean replied.

“A betrayal? Congratulation that you have got your revenge but you are still guilty of killing people.”

Sean did not reply, silence filled the interrogation room.

“Alright, I’ll get to the point; I can offer you something that can help you out of this problem,” Brook offered.

“How far can your offer help me?”

“Clean record, new name, a new life,” explained Brook.

“Such a good offer for a killer,” replied Sean.

“All I need you to do is to capture someone alive, I am sure you are good at that.”

“If I have captured the man you want, how can I guarantee you won’t lie to me?”

“I am a man of my word, if you want a new life you have to trust me on this.”

“Okay, give me 2 days to prepare.”

“You will have to wear this tracking device,” said Brook as he put the device around Sean’s ankle.

“Remember, you only have two days and your new identity will be ready by then.”

=Two Days Later=

*Knock on the door*

“I bet you are ready,” said Brook.

“I bet you have prepared my new identity”

Brook came into Sean’s house and sat down to explain more about Sean’s new identity and the target that needed to be taken alive.

“Your new name is Diego Mann, you were a doctor for six years and your record has been added to the hospital you worked for,” explained Brook.

“Then what about my target,” asked Sean.

“His name is Murdoc Junior, the only son of Murdoc King. They are threat to our country,” explained Brook.

Brook explained in detail about the target. Sean’s mission was to capture a man’s son who wanted to destroy America with a nuclear bomb. There was information saying that the nuclear bomb will be ready in one week. Therefore, Sean had to capture Murdoc Junior alive to be an effective object to trade with the nuclear bomb as Murdoc King loved his only son very much.
